So, there was this huge ice storm and my school was canceled for 6 days because of it.
Since it was a state of emergency and nobody could do anything about it, would I have to make up school for it?
I looked it up in the school handbook thing and it didn't say anything about it.
Any help?In Massachusetts, if there is a state of emergency, do you have to make up school for it?
i was wondering the same thing im in massachusetts and my school is a shelter so we couldnt go to school for 6 days too
i heard you dont have to make it up but im not sure yetIn Massachusetts, if there is a state of emergency, do you have to make up school for it?
by superintendent rule, it can vary. but when I lived there,we had the blizzard of '96. I think this weather now, rivels that.
anyway, yes. you do have to make up any declared snow days.
You can have as many as 14 snow days, but only have to make up 10 of those days. School is not allowed to continue past July 1st. but there is a certain amount of days you have to be in school each year.So you have to make up to 10 days of school at the end of the year.
I was just wondering that- I live in southern NH and we were off for 6 days alos.. I remember hearing that we don't have to make it up because of the state of emergency. School has to be cancelled for that, and there's definitely nothing anybody can do about it...
I hope we don't have to make it up!
Merry Christmas =]
Its a snow day so you have to make it up. I live in MA, and ice storms are like snows days and yeah. Lol, my teach lives in Worcester, and his power was off for a week. I still think its off.
OMG! I live in Massachusetts too! Sandwich, Massachusetts. We didn't get any of it though. Yes, you would have to make it up.
I think you would. They would be considered snow days.
Wow! I live in Winchester MA (suburbs) and we didn't get any school off! Usualy, They give you 2-3 days off until they start making you redo them...
