When school closes for snow days, should schools then have make up days in the spring time?

I believe that when in the winter time schools decide to close because of the snow, that when spring time comes, schools should require the kids to come in and make up the time lost from the winter school closings. This way, our kids are not losing out on lessons because of snow days. How does everyone else feel about this? And, do any of the schools do this in the spring time? Schools put extra days into the calendar for snow closings and other emergencies. If there are too few snow days they do have extra days. If there are too many snow days in the calendar many schools have extra days off during the spring./When school closes for snow days, should schools then have make up days in the spring time?
Every school (at least in the northern states) figures in an appropriate estimate of possible school closings. If they go over that amount they make it up by shortening spring break or other planned days off. Usually its not needed but I have seen it happen (last year we had a major ice storm and a lot of people lost power for over a week.) Needless to say, children must, by law, attend a certain amount of days of school.
well!! i live in a snowy area!! buffalo ny and we do have snow days built in to aur school calander this year we have 8 we usually have 2-4 but we had no snow days last year anyway,,, we don't have to make them up unless we had 9 or more this year!!! thank god for snow days!
I thought all schools did that! Of course they have to/should! Anyways isn't there a manditory number of school days a year? My school definitely makes up the days and I don't know of any other school that doesn't.
