I want to become a makeup artist after I graduate from high school. What is the best make up school in nyc?

Please include alot of details about what I need to do and the processes that I need to take.I want to become a makeup artist after I graduate from high school. What is the best make up school in nyc?
Don't even go to MAC. Professional makeup artists do NOT use that whack. Please go check out www.makeupartistchat.com, there is a TON of information there! You can pay a professional time for them to teach you, but I guarantee you will find the answer at the link I provided. A lot of the pros in NYC that I worked with at Fashion Week last September do workshops throughout the year as well. I cannot stress how much you need to stay away from MAC. Just google ';mac boycott'; and you will see what I mean.

Best of luck! I love being a makeup artist, it is the funnest job out there!I want to become a makeup artist after I graduate from high school. What is the best make up school in nyc?
Look At These Websites. Good Luck! :]
If you are interested in Theater and special effects makeup you must attend school. Other than that I would suggest working with Mac. They will train you at no cost. You can then work towards doing shows and things like that with them. Fred Segal in LA has training also. They run anywhere from $500 to several thousand. They are advanced classes that are only 2 days long. Keep a camera with you always to build your portfolio. Once you have some basic experience find a makeup artist to assist on shoots. That is where you will learn the most. You can post on Craig's list under skilled trade for that. People are always looking for an assistant. In NY you are more marketable if you can do basic hair too.
