Do you think old school make-up/mask/costume scary flicks are better and scarier that the new CG flicks?

I personally can't get scared or excited from a computer animated monster. I need good old fashion corn syrup blood and guts.Do you think old school make-up/mask/costume scary flicks are better and scarier that the new CG flicks?
yeah i agree the cheesy blue faced zombies in romero's flicks seemed scarier than the crappy cartoonish zombies in films like i am legend
